Why do people hate math?
Kristin: People hate math because its all numbers and we are not a computer so we don't speak number. Therefore it can be very confusing and it can make you want to give up.
Shelby: Also because of the varibles and some people have a hard time finding the answers.
Do you like or hate math?
Shelby: Well I used to like math and then Algebra and Geometry confused me but physics has helped me understand the math. Therefore, I am having better luck with Algebra II.
Kristin: I have always loved math and science and those have also been my best subjects. When I got to Booker T. I expected just lots of worksheets from the teacher like my 8th grade teacher did and so I was not very excited. But my love for the subject increases with all the projects.
Do you think math is important for Artists?
Shelby: Yes, especially geometry because you use shapes in costume and set construction.
Kristin: No, except geometry and the basics because we really don't use it that much except for the shapes and ratios for paint.
How can math education improve?
Shelby: I think its great how it is.
Kristin: The younger grades should have more fun with it play math games and give the kids a small prize for getting it right. Make it a cool thing to be smart help them enjoy it.

Video from Algebra II Class
The video we watched was about the relationship between a developing country and the average amount of children being born per family. The graph that the Professor showed also showed the population by the size of the dot and what continent they were on by the color. When the graph was put in motion you saw some countries prosper and some stay were they were or even get lower in their life expectancy. It was cool to see the change especailly when China went from low expectancy and high children per family to high expectancy and low children per family. You can learn a lot from this type of graph and make many inferances that would help the world see which countries need their help to be put on their feet. I think the world could do a lot with this graph and help a lot of people.
